Using her 2011 Nuit Blanche performance and embodied theatre practice, Dr. Carter will speak as an artist and educator on the necessity of decolonizing and reclaiming indigenous peoples’ space, as conceptualized through aesthetic strategies. March 12, 2013 12—2pm

Dr. Jill Carter is a woman of mixed heritage, Anishinaabe and Ashkenazi with a doctorate in drama from the University of Toronto. She teaches in the university’s Aboriginal Studies Program and the Transitional Year Programme. Recently she directed a Native Earth Performing Arts remount of Monique Mojica’s “Chocolate Woman Dreams the Milky Way.”
